Olympians from near and far traveled to Los Angeles to reach up for the gold.

One of the best parts of being on the awards team is that we get to see the athletes’ faces backstage when they realize they’ve won first place (they don’t know the scores until they get to us). This is Jennifer, a Gold Medal gymnast from Great Britain. When I sat her down in the first place chair to get ready for staging and she saw the number 1, she looked up at me with big eyes, asked if she was in first place and when I grinned and told her yes, she burst out crying. Some more vocal than others, each country’s Fans in the Stands let their athletes know they were supported no matter what.

Volvo new Mississippi parts distribution center

Nearly 25-miles southeast of Memphis and over 1,100 from their U.S. headquarters in New Jersey, Swedish automaker Volvo recently unveiled a state-of-the-art, 1,000,000-square-foot Central Distribution Center (CDC) in Byhalia, Mississippi to optimize the circulation of parts for dealers and customers.

The brand new facility cost approximately seventy million dollars and will support the company’s Mack and Volvo truck brands, as well as Volvo Construction Equipment and Volvo Penta.

As construction had only been announced the November prior, completing such a technically advanced structure in little more than six months was quite the accomplishment.

Couple in the fact the Volvo Group’s newest installation created 250 jobs in Mississippi and it’s clear a celebration was in order.

What began as an event without a tent grew into a multi-tented, four-day install that became more intricate as the special occasion approached.

Indoors, a stage was assembled for Volvo executives to address the press who waited from their black wooden folding chairs.

Back outside, an elongated tent structure complete with flooring and lighting was assembled to shield dining guests from the Southern sun.

A series of rectangular banquet tables outlined the tenting while an inner belt of 72” rounds were accompanied by warm-toned Chiavaris.

Perhaps the most impressive piece of décor of all were the custom flower arrangements built from Volvo car parts; the likes of which were quite apt given the motivation for the occasion.

Natural light flooded into the tent not unlike the brand new facility.

The facility used  natural daylight and state-of-the-art LED lighting to save energy

To keep costs down and energy usage minimal, skylights were featured throughout in addition to the use of innovative building materials, state-of-the-art LED lighting and a comprehensive building automation system.

The $70 million state-of-the-art facility supports the company’s Mack and Volvo truck brands, as well as Volvo Construction Equipment and Volvo Penta

Volvo also benefited from the comprehensive building systems of Classic Memphis, whose set up and breakdown took more than four days total.

The installation and leveling of 9,600 square-feet of flooring would take a full day alone, but was done so with the professional execution and reliability synonymous with the Classic brand.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of Classic team members like Joanna Hubbard and the vision of Volvo, it’s safe to say the event was one those associated with the Byhalia facility aren’t soon to forget.

Having acquired a massive North Texas lot from the Hillwood Company, Facebook recently broke ground on a state-of-the-art data center on the cutting edge of efficiency and capacity.

Classic Party Rentals’ Pompano Beach location is known for producing large scale events, which is exactly what the International Air Transport Association (IATA) had in mind for their 71st Annual General Meeting in Miami.

Held at the Loews Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida over three days, the conference also served as the World Air Transport Summit. Considering the influence of the leadership involved, in addition to the 1,000-plus company delegates in attendance, it’s clear to see why the event constituted the world’s largest gathering of airline leaders.

The crisscrossing of executives from meet-and-greets to panel discussions and industry sessions left hungry minds famished; the likes of which Thierry’s Catering and Event Design was glad to feed.

For the IATA Gala Dinner held at Ice Palace Film Studios a custom gourmet menu was devised by local chef Thierry Isambert for a banquet of over 900 guests.

In terms of cooking, Panache created a gourmet off premise catering kitchen in the parking lot of the venue. This temporary kitchen included equipment such as propane griddles, convection ovens, 6-burner stoves and fryers. The culinary team also sourced catering service items like ice chests, bread baskets, waiter trays and coffee urns.

Some are so awesome that their service deserves peer recognition and awards. In this instance Larry Brison, the longtime Will-Call lead in Memphis, was overdue for a little of both.

Receiving the branch’s inaugural “One in a Million, You Are Awesome” award, Larry was praised in front of more than 90 coworkers for his exemplary customer service, attitude, and willingness to help anyone and everyone while boasting an infectious smile.

Employees commented that “there was so much energy and enthusiasm in the room” and that “[i]t is great to see the company recognizing great people.” So even though not everyone could be honored everyone was a winner when it came to acknowledging Larry.

The award’s purpose was simple: to serve as a reminder to catch people doing things right and bring the spotlight to those who’ve achieved. It just so happens that Larry isn’t very hard to catch red handed.

With graduation season in full bloom, event specialists nationwide are sweating the details as the temperatures rise.

Despite the string of recent rainstorms, Dedman School of Law made the decision to continue their graduation ceremonies outside.  As a long-time customer of Classic Party Rental’s company, Ducky Bob’s – we were there by their side.

Thankfully, for the more than 3,000 in attendance, including a commander-in-chief, the clouds parted resulting in a beautiful day for all.

Over 3,000 chairs were needed and 100 chrome stanchions and black ropes were used to outline the assorted aisles.

Event set up took place over two days including the delivery of the chairs, stanchions and tables along with the installation of two custom red carpet walkways.  The stage was set for quite the celebration and event, which was necessary considering the guest speaker.

Former United States President George W. Bush, delivered the commencement speech.  The former President is no stranger to the area having held the Texas Rangers and naming rights of the university’s Presidential Library.

Considering the significance of the event for all the graduates, let alone the privilege of hearing a former President of the United States speak, Ducky-Bob’s was extremely grateful to have contributed to such a momentous occasion.

Memorial Day flags at the LA Cemetery

Selflessness ― we can all strive for it; but few have done so with such sacrifice as fallen veterans.

Let us not forget that the true purpose of Memorial Day: to remember and honor those who gave their lives in defense of everything we hold dear.

When the consequences of protecting liberty prove dire, heroes answer their call to duty regardless; and for that each and every one who has perished deserves a moment of silence.

Both solemn reflection and public observance are respectable ways to repay those who died on our behalf. This is something a 92-year-old WWII, Korea and Vietnam veteran such as Ernest Cowell would surely confer.

With the LA Cemetery serving as the backdrop, Mr. Cowell, President of the Los Angeles National Cemetery Support Foundation, reached out to Classic El Segundo to help honor military casualties from all generations with a Memorial Day service. We were humbled and privileged to assist.

This special event called for tables, chairs and umbrellas which facilitated a complimentary breakfast and lunch service for over 1,500 of our nation’s veterans, active duty military and general public.

To salute countless soldiers of valor, the California Army National Guard Artillery brought out the big guns, firing a Howitzer in tribute.

Participants and spectators alike were privy to a tasteful ceremony. There is not enough respect that can be paid to the cemetery’s Support Foundation for their work in honoring these most deserving men, women, mothers, husbands, sons and daughters. There comes a time after years of hard work, determination and sacrifice when an individual is recognized for their exemplary efforts and lauded publicly for their achievements.

Not a day too soon, the graduating class of Harper College Spring 2015 was honored as such May 16th, 2015 at their Palatine, Illinois campus.

Situated a little over 30 miles from the college, Classic Party Rentals of Chicago was commissioned to provide event rentals and build a memorable graduation experience.

Beginning with an enormous 40m x 70m (130′ x 230′) Clearspan structure tent, college graduates were able to share their success with over 2600 guests and 200 faculty members as they walked across the stage to receive their diplomas.

Throughout the structure Classic installed high bay lighting which illuminated the tented event.

To seat the near 3,000 in attendance an army of chair rentals were required, totaling 2600 Samsonite folding chairs, 900 white resin chairs.

Lastly, to keep party central in line, 80 stanchions were supplied to rope off the graduates’ walk way.

To be present, let alone a behind-the-scenes component, of such a meaningful and family-filled event is always a privilege; but the opportunity to bask in the collective enthusiasm and bright futures of this graduating class was something we’ll never forget.

Big events call for even BIGGER tents, which was precisely the case when an automaker chose to exhibit their 2016 fleet in Arlington, Texas.

Held annually in North Texas at a revolving location, this year’s presentation took place in the parking lot of the iconic AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys and the world’s largest high-definition television screen.

To greet spectators tent rentals from Ducky-Bob’s Event Specialists, a Classic Party Rentals company, were contracted, resulting in the  set up of two very large structure tents in the parking lot of the stadium.

Requiring a dozen-plus crew members and two full days for installation, the 15M x 70M (50’x220′) & 15M X 30M (50’X100′) tents shielded spectators, event staff, vendors and Texans alike from the sizzling Spring sun.

Utilizing both the Legend Pole and Legend Frame high peak tension tent designs, in excess of 15,000 square feet of canopied space transformed the parking lot from an asphalt ocean into a unique automotive experience and window of things to come.

Just beyond the tents exhibitors set up a “drive experience” demonstration for local dealership representatives who were able to test drive the new cars for all to see.

Whipping around a winding path with considerable twists, the drivers treated the audience to a front row showing of how each car and truck handled tight turns.

Alongside the vehicles’ performance a swath of amenities for both the driver and passenger were on display, including the debut of a hybrid-van that could just change the game.

All-in-all, with the cool tents and the hot cars, Ducky-Bob’s was truly privileged to have contributed to the DEFINITIVE driving experience!

It’s always a privilege to be a part of any special event, but especially so when there’s the focus of promoting philanthropy and applauding those who’ve led the way.

With this honor in mind, Panache, a Classic Party Rentals company, was asked to provide the linens and tabletop accessories for the 22nd Annual Twelve Good Men luncheon hosted at Jungle Island in Miami, Florida.

Though the traditional McDonalds color scheme is one we’re not often requested to fulfill, the event planner executed the decor flawlessly given the fundraiser was hosted by the Ronald McDonald House of Charities of South Florida.

The gold, red, and white colors were consistent with the McDonald’s color scheme.

Traditionally Ronald McDonald Houses have provided priceless peace of mind, security and assistance for countless families of children suffering serious maladies. The South Florida House is no different, serving as a home away from home for thousands in need.

Honorees included Jorge Villacampa, Jay Pelham, Marty Davis, James Murphy, Eugenio Sevilla-Sacasa, Miguel Inda-Romero, Roy Ripak Robert J. Gordon, Aleksander Alembert, Fernando Perez-Hickman, David Martin and Alfredo Mesa’ all of whom were presented by event MC Calvin Hughes, a past honoree, member the WPLG Local 10 news team and Emmy Award winning newscaster.

In junction with a silent auction the event managed to secure more $60,000 in donations. Proceeds will directly support both the Miami and Fort Lauderdale Ronald McDonald Houses.

The SOBE Festival hosts the nation’s leading chefs, culinary personalities and wine and spirits producers in a series of interactive events spanning across a four-day festival.

The Panache team supported the transformation of the North Venue into four distinct event spaces, which Panache then transformed daily with various themes.   The venue hosted 3,000 guests each night and more than 120 chefs and restaurants. Leading up to the festival, Panache, a Classic Party Rentals company, delivered more than 80 truckloads of event rental equipment providing cooking and catering equipment, specialty seating, linens, tabletop and more. The event rentals included over 1,700 square feet of cooking surface, food storage units capable of holding 7,000 cubic feet of ingredients and more than 3,600 square feet of mobile and static refrigerated space.  Among notable event rentals was a unique 32,000 square-foot curve beam structure that sat on the North Venue, creating a focal point for the festival.

Outside of the North Venue, the team was busy around town creating stylish festival related events.  For the “Olmeca Altos Tequila’s Medianoches and Mixology” at Wynwood Walls and “CASAMIGOS Tequila” hosted by Aaron Sanchez at Loews Miami Beach Hotel, the team used rustic wood walls, bars and tables. Cracker Jack linens and Chameleon chairs set the stage for the “Southern Kitchen Brunch” hosted by country superstar Trisha Yearwood at Loews Miami Beach Hotel. Festival goers were transported across the globe at “Culinary Odyssey: An Israeli Dinner” with Moroccan influenced tables, linens and tabletops at The Ritz-Carlton Residences Miami Beach.

Here’s the day-by-day breakdown…

 

THURSDAY:  AL FRESCO EVENT KICKOFF
Italian Al Fresco Feast on the Beach hosted by Debi Mazar & Gabriele Corcos, presented by Ronzoni, sponsored by MIAMI magazine.


Panache hosted the Salotto lounge and included the digital caricature artist through Mike Sipe Entertainment with decor elements provided by Designs By Sean. Also featured was a Chocolate Charcutterie station hosted by Susie Scrumptious and sponsored by Guittard Chocolate.

Panache created custom Ronzoni Blue spandex tent covers for all the Chef stations in the courtyard including a branded piece for the Ronzoni activation.

The rustic feel of fresh Italian meets the beach included or Tuscan Cafe Chairs with Descanso Communal tables and other guest tables draped in Burlap inspired fabric. Hi boys lined the lanes draped and tied with Western Ivory. Panache worked with designer Sean DeFreitas to create Solatto styled vignettes not only for guests but also our host chefs. Ovens, ranges, griddles and grills assisted Chefs to prepare an amazing Italian feast. Panache completed the warmth of the chilly night with heaters throughout the venue.

FRIDAY
In the middle of the night Panache cleared the venue and replaced all the cooking equipment (more than 75 pieces) with the over 90 units of Griddles, grills and Fryers to get Burger Bash off to a smoking start with burgers and fries.  Thursday‘s seating was replaced with Black chiavaris with ginger lust linens, and lounges were rebuilt for VIP guests. Duff Goldman used our 3 spindle mixers for amazing milkshake flavors at his featured space.

SATURDAY
Just after midnight Panache once again cleared the space as Meatopia rules required cooking with fires from wood or charcoal.  So all propane removed to make way for more than 60 charcoal grills. Panache then changed the guest seating to compliment the bold red, black and gold of the Meatopia brand with linens and Gold chaivari  chairs. VIP seating once again changed to include reclaimed wood tables and black Bellini chairs.

SUNDAY
Sunday at midnight all of the ashes were swept away along with all the equipment and seating to set for Best of the Munchies. Panache reloaded with more than 100 assorted pieces of catering equipment at each of the 30 chef stations. Seating was a bit more casual with mahogany folding chairs and pea green linens and hi tops featured our celadon/mango plaid linens.

Classic Party Rentals, the leading Phoenix party rental and services provider, was all over Arizona these past few weeks creating entertainment venues from the ground up for football’s biggest day of the year.

“This has been a very busy and exciting time for the state of Arizona as well as here at Classic Party Rentals,” says JJ Bowers, General Manager at Classic Party Rentals Phoenix. “We are honored to have helped shape the experience for football fans.”

In anticipation of the Big Game, Classic Party Rentals was busy with a myriad of Phoenix party rentals.  Classic supported all AZ Host Committee events across the state providing event rentals, heating and lounge furniture including Classic Party Rentals own Vogue line, concluding with the Official Tailgate Party at Saddle Ranch at Westgate Entertainment District.  Former Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer was among the attendees.

On the big day, Classic Party Rentals provided event rentals as well as numerous tents and large structures for the ESPN Fan Fest in Scottsdale and the Bud Light tailgate.  At the ESPN Fan Fest and ESPN Live broadcast Classic Party Rentals provided event rentals, tenting, floor covering and multiple large structures. Classic Party Rentals also built a custom runway for the NFL fashion show for an estimated crowd of 350,000 people.

The Bud Light tailgate events were primarily held on the Renaissance Hotel property across the street from the stadium where Classic Party Rentals was tapped to create a 30m structure with a double decker structure inside. The large custom structure was 100ft wide on 16ft tall legs to house an internal double decker structure that was 66ft x 66ft on 13ft tall legs for the patrons to celebrate on. The 1,000 guests dined on Descanso tables and benches.

Barrett-Jackson sold 1,611 vehicles, which went for more than $130 million (unaudited), setting new records for the company.

Automobilia sales nearly tripled previous world records, with 2,000 pieces selling for more than $6.55 million.
