Exciting news! Classic was recognized at The Special Event Tradeshow & Conference Awards Gala for “Best Tent Installation” for Mercedes-Benz’ stunning tent build at the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
Czarnowski, an exhibit and event marketing company, reached out to Classic – a longtime provider to Mercedes – to produce a custom structure worthy of showcasing Mercedes’ new concept vehicle at the Concours d’Elegance, the most prominent vintage car show in the world.
Classic designed, manufactured, shipped and installed a one-of-a-kind structure that would allow Mercedes to not only showcase the cars, but entertain clients and host events. The final product was a 15-by-45-by-6-meter flat-roof structure that featured many unique elements.
Glass walls and doors were tinted to reflect the sun, yet not too dark to impede the view from inside the building overlooking the third hole at the legendary Pebble Beach golf course and the Pacific Ocean.
Custom black fabric was used to ensure the venue appropriately represented its high-end car client.
The subfloor was a custom-build with additional support to drive vehicles inside the tent. And, the HVAC required custom fittings and ducting to utilize floor registers and returns for optimal efficiency.
Not only did Classic produce this unique, complex structure under a tight deadline, but the team also had to adhere to new safety and building requirements.
To get the project done quickly and safely, the Classic team utilized several different crews to install each category of the product. The tenting crew, flooring crew and HVAC crews all worked alongside each other, and also with the display, production and lighting crews from the client. The teams worked daily with the building department and Pebble Beach’s own safety department to ensure compliance.
Marc Esposito, Regional Director of Classic Party Rentals, accepted the award for Best Tent Installation on behalf of the Classic team at The Special Event Tradeshow & Conference Awards Gala on Jan. 12 in Long Beach, California.
